Project Overview:
GTA Builds took on the challenge of transforming the original basement in this century-old Toronto home, primarily used for storage. The initial conditions included low ceilings, insufficient lighting, and outdated electrical and plumbing systems. The newly renovated basement now boasts a distinct layout featuring a separate laundry area, furnace room, bathroom, living room, and mudroom.
The most significant transformation was achieved through underpinning, substantially increasing the ceiling height and enhancing the overall spaciousness. Additionally, a new staircase and opening were installed to improve accessibility and flow. The inclusion of an on-demand water heater adds to the modern efficiency of the space. The project’s standout feature is the creation of a stylish side entrance with frosted glass doors, adding both functionality and aesthetic appeal to this rejuvenated Toronto basement.
